Camera World
An online photography learning platform with courses, learners' forums, and feedback directly from the instructors.
Design Goal
The central concept of my design is learning with peers, and I think the essential function for my design is the community forum. Based on my interview results, even professional photographers sometimes don't like to share their photos with the public because they don't know what people would say on social media. So, I want to create a safe place for learners to share and learn. I got inspired by a peer studio, and I want to design a good onboarding experience. Learners would learn how to critique others' works effectively.
How might we create an online photography learning platform for learners to learn and share?
Design Principles
The primary target audience for this platform are photo enthusiasts, and they may be of different ages, different backgrounds, and different understanding of technology. My design needs to be inclusive for every learner, So, I want my design is:
Empower:
Learners could make their own learning decisions
Learners could share their photos without hesitation
Learners can manage their project timeline in their preferred way
Effective:
Break the big tasks into smaller pieces
The design should not be redundant, learners could locate what they want at the first time
Familiar:
Offering scaffolding to enable learners to maximize their learning outcomes
The design needs to be simple and easy to understand
The icons and descriptions need to be straightforward
